The park is one of the most popular things to do, there are so many and they are FREE!!
What an inexpensive way to keep the kids entertained and build their communication skills, try one of these ideas:
*make up an ‘obstacle course’: Take it in turns to give each other directions e.g. ‘Go around the tree and then do 5 frog jumps before you get to the swing’ to help build understanding of language and auditory memory
*Collect items around the park e.g, rocks, leaves, flowers and make a treasure box of the the things you found. You could practice describing skills like colours, shapes, textures.
*Practice commenting skills and vocabulary development by talking about what you can see e.g. ‘I see clouds, swings, slides.’
